The idea of Faction Masters is to get the top players of each faction to compete in a knock-out tournament. Top player with each faction is determined by the ELO ranking in the app.
Clarissimus is accompanying the games with a video, often with one or two guests, usually one the two competitors.

If two of a player's factions would play each other in the tournament, both faction advance.
From then on, the player gets to pick which faction to play before the match starts. They can still be eliminated in a single loss but you has some versatility that gives an advantage.
And in the unlikely event that two faction alliances face off against each other, both players would have to pick their factions simultaneously and secretly.
