This is one of my favorite League matchups ever. There’s just so much positioning and long game goodness between two factions with a lot of assassination tools but enough defensive prowess that it’s difficult to avoid the long game.
Goats took my practice series, birds took my League games.
All four games played out quite differently yet were so on-theme, with the battle going on in a different quadrant in each one. Between big movement shifts, Ramming Advance turns, and big attack turns, these games had it all.
I really feel like this is what SW is meant to be, chess but fun. There’s high-intensity tactical positioning with big events, a tight board, and incredible theme in the gameplay.
I enjoy the tricky recursion factions (SH, HE, VG, FD) but this MU reminds me how good SW is without any of that nonsense. Units die and stay dead and it’s tight and tense and just sooooooo good.
