I’m 40 years old and used to work as a software engineer before switching to counseling. I’m also a dad and have some cats strolling around. Back in the day, I played bass guitar in a few bands, mainly funk and rock. I'm a big fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. My online gaming kicked off with Doom, Warcraft II, and Diablo during the mid-90s, anything that went well with Kali95. I took a long break from online gaming, but Summoner Wars has pulled me back in.

I had seen stuff from the first edition of Summoner Wars, but I wasn't really drawn to its artwork, so I ignored it. When the second edition was released with more vibrant and cartoonish artwork and after seeing some great reviews, I decided to give it a try. I bought the master set shortly after its release and have picked up every expansion since then. It’s an incredible game. I only started getting really into it around January 2024.

I don't have a favorite faction, but I generally prefer factions with high mobility. My favorite card is Monstrosity from the Fungal Dwarves. Evolving these units and getting one into play is incredibly satisfying.

I don’t have enough experience to form a definitive opinion yet, but so far, I’m quite happy with how the game is designed. If anything, exploring additional rules for multiplayer formats could be interesting.

I enjoy a variety of board games, but besides Summoner Wars, Gloomhaven is definitely my favorite. I occasionally play video games on the PS5.
