"I am a pathologist that probably plays too much Summoner Wars". That was my bio posted in the old PHG forum about 10 years back. I guess now is a good time for a revision: I am a pathologist that plays too much Summoner Wars.

Back in 2012, I was a boardgame fan but couldn't find anyone to play IRL. So I got an old iPad and started searching on BGG for all the highly recommended boardgame apps. Summoner Wars was top on the list so I got it during a sale, played a few games and just kept playing. I have ~5000 games logged on the app and got somewhat competent with the game, and with extremely luck won a few tournaments.

Cloaks and Vlox. I played a third of SW games as Cloaks and Vlox was always staring at me when I opened the app (the old SW app will show the full image of the summoner you played the most on the log-in page). I enjoyed the challenge of VG in SW2, but now that the Cloaks are out there is no competition. Sorry Sera.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I would like to have the old art back. If that is too much, at least just keep the walls as walls. :)

There are quite a few boardgame apps I enjoyed: Agricola, Le Havre, and most recently Through the Ages. IRL I only get to play a few lighter games, such as Patchwork, Splendor, and Grand Austria Hotel with my wife. I also play a lot of old-school video games. Some of my favorites are Fallout 2 and Heroes of Might and Magic 3. There is another archaic game that I play a lot and would recommend to SW fans due to the similar feel. It is called Vantage Master, and is now a Freeware provided by the original maker Falcom (JRPG fans may know the company for their Legend of Heroes series. I only liked the Gagharv trilogy though).
